The marriage of Miss Marilyn Jean Rentschler and Lain Eugene Gibbs took place Saturday evening, June 29, in Emanuel Lutheran church in Strawberry Point. The Rev. S. J. Meyer officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Howard Hanson, St. Olaf, and the groom is the son of John Gibbs and the late Mrs. John Gibbs, Manchester. Miss Ida Mae Hanson, Chicago, aunt of the bride, was maid of honor, Barbara Ballard, Greeley, cousin of the bride, was flower girl, and Larry Gibbs, Dundee, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer. Dwane Kelley, Manchester, was best man, and Verle Kelley, Manchester, was groomsman. Ushers were Otto Hanson Jr., St. Olaf, and Robert Gibbs, Dundee, brother of the groom. Mrs. Donald Chettinger, Garber, aunt of the bride, made all the flowers of wood fibre and also made the bride's veil.
After a wedding trip to the Black Hills and Nebraska, the couple will reside at Strawberry Point.
The bride is a graduate of the Strawberry Point high school and the groom is a graduate of Dundee high school. At present he is employed by the Illinois Central railroad between Waterloo and Chicago.
