The Rev. J. A. Pannkuk officiated at St. Peter's Lutheran church in Garnavillo, April 27, when Miss Norma Thiese was united in holy matrimony to Eldo Trede. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Thiese of Clayton, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Trede of Clayton. Arlene Thiese, sister of the bride, acted as maid of honor, and Loraine Thiese, sister of the bride, acted as junior bridesmaid. Donna Troester, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Troester, a distant relative of the bride, acted as flower girl. Harold Brase of Guttenberg, brother-in-law of the groom, and Jerry Thiese, brother of the bride, acted as best man and groomsman. The usherette and usher were Angeline Thiese of Monona, cousin of the bride, and Harlan Hartman of Marion, brother-in-law of the groom.
Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church parlors at which kitchen helpers were Mrs. Alfred Thiese, Monona; Mrs. Ferd Thiese, Guttenberg; Mrs. Emil Thiese, McGregor. Mrs. Harlan Hartman of Marion, sister of the groom, cut the cake, and Miss Paula Frese of Waterville, cousin of the groom and also a former classmate of the bride, served the ice cream. Mrs. Harold Brase of Guttenberg, sister of the groom, served the punch, and Miss Audrey Thiese of Waverly, cousin of the bride, presided at the coffee.
The bride is a graduate of the Garnavillo community school and has been employed by the school as a teacher's aide. The groom has been engaged in farming with his father the past year since his discharge from the armed services. The new couple will reside on a farm near Clayton.
