Belden - Kaiser marriage - 1941

MONONA: Miss Laverne B. Kaiser, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arno J. Kaiser, was married to Howard Belden, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Belden of Spirit Lake, Sunday, in St. Paul's Lutheran church, with the pastor, the Rev. H. W. Siefkes officiating. Eileen Drahn, a cousin of the bride, sang two selections. Mrs. Earl E. Hillman, of Calmar, sister of the bride, acted as matron of honor, and two of the bride's cousins, Ramona Schultz and Pauline Kruse, were bridesmaids. Edward Cordes, brother-in-law of the bride, was best man, and ushers were two cousins of the bride, John Edward Kruse of Waterloo, and Lloyd Drahn of Monona.

Mrs. Belden is a graduate of the local high school and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. For the past three years she has taught school in Spirit Lake high school. Her husband is a graduate of the Spirit Lake high school and is employed at the La Doux Coca Cola plant.

After a honeymoon the couple will be at home in Spirit Lake.
