Roehlk - Sharp marriage - 1946

In a pretty home wedding Miss Laura Mae Sharp, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Sharp of Elkader, became the bride of Robert J. Roehlk, only son of Mr. and Mrs. John Roehlk of Elkader. The ceremony took place at the home of the bride's parents Tuesday, Dec. 17, the Rev. Herbert G. Kelly, pastor of the Congregational Christian church, officiated. The couple were unattended.

Mrs. Roehlk is a graduate of the Elkader high school and junior college and of Coe college in Cedar Rapids. She also attended Cornell college. In Jan. 1944 she enlisted in the Waves. She received her discharge as a Lieutenant (j.g.) in May of this year. Her husband is a graduate of Kelvyn Park high school in Chicago and attended Wright junior college in that city and the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. He enlisted in the Army Air corp in 1942 and served as a bombardier navigator in India. He received his discharge in November

Both Mr. and Mrs. Roehlk expect to attend Drake university in Des Moines next semester.
