Mr. and Mrs. John Durr announce the marriage of their daughter Bernetta to Lawrence McGuire, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. E. McGuire, July 01, at St. Mary's church with the Rev. V. J. Peters officiating. The attendants were Helen and Joseph McGuire, sister and brother of the groom.
After a wedding trip to Kentucky, they will return to live in the postoffice apartment in McGregor, where Mr. McGuire is in the furniture business.
Mrs. McGuire was an Army nurse and spent 44 months in Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines.
Mr. McGuire was a bombardier in the U.S. Air Force in the Philippines and was captured in the fall of Bataan in 1942 and was a prisoner of the Japanese for three years. He arrived home last October and received his discharge early this spring.
