STRAWBERRY POINT: Sat. evening, May 19, at St. Sebald Lutheran church, Miss Loretta Baumgartner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Baumgartner, became the bride of Arnold Raabe of Dubuque, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Raabe of Wilton, Wis. The Rev. Howard Hahn officiated. Miss Arlene Raabe of Wilton, sister of the groom, was maid of honor, and Miss Erma Baumgartner served her sister as bridesmaid. Gerald Baumgartner was ringbearer. Best man was the bride's brother, Paul Baumgartner, and Norton Raabe of Wilton, a brother of the groom was another attendant.
The bride graduated from the local high school in 1938, from the business administration department of Wartburg college, Waverly, taught in the rural schools four years and recently was employed in the offices of Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids. The groom received his B.A. degree from Wartburg college, and is now attending his senior year at Wartburg Seminary, Dubuque. After May 28, the new couple will be at home at 1203 Grove Terrace, Dubuque.
