STRAWBERRY POINT: The home of J. J. Matthews was the scene of the April 14, marriage of their younger daughter Harriet Louise, to Robert Stark of Chicago, son of Mrs. Jessie R. Stark of Joliet, Ill. The Rev. W. B. O'Neill, pastor of the Congregational church, officiated. Serving her sister as maid of honor was Helen Matthews, Specialist Gunner 3/c with the WAVEs stationed at Newport, R.I. Carl Caley of Ames, a college friend, was best man.
The bride graduated from the Strawberry Point high school in 1911 (1941 ?), and from the Institution Management course at Iowa State College, Ames, in March, 1945. The groom is a graduate of the Joliet, Ill., high school with the class of 1939, and also a graduate of the Iowa State College in chemistry, and is now employed as a chemist by Swift and Co. in Chicago, where the couple will make their home.
