Preuss - Otdoerfer marriage - 1944

VOLGA: The marriage of Miss Arlene Otdoerfer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Otdoerfer of Strawberry Point, and Pfc. Edward Preuss, youngest son of Louis Preuss of Volga City, took place Sunday, March 05, in the St. Sebald church. The Rev. H. Hahn, pastor, officiated. Attending the couple were Miss Harriet Goeke, a former classmate of the bride, and Lloyd Preuss, brother of the groom. Ushers were Harvey Kraus and Paul Weger, brothers-in-law of the bride.

A graduate of the Strawberry Point high school, the bride attended Upper Iowa University at Fayette, where she was a member of Sigma Nu Sigma fraternity. For the last two years she has been teaching in rural schools. Private Preuss is a graduate of the Volga City high school, attended Wright Junior college in Chicago. Before entering the service he was employed in Kohls market and the Volga locker plant. He is now stationed at Camp White, Ore. Mrs. Preuss plans to continue teaching.
