Mrs. Sarah Hayden was born on a farm north of Murray March 16, 1865; died at a hospital in Osceola, Iowa, May 19, 1937, aged 72 years.
She was married in 1887 to Thomas Hayden. They lived for several years in Spencer, Iowa. After her husband's death in 1919, she came back to Murray and had since made her home with her sister, Mrs. Mary Dinham. She was one of a family of twelve children.
Surviving her is her sister Mrs. Mary Dinham of Murray, four half sisters, Mrs. Maggie Leeps and Lina Audlehelm of Osceola; Mrs. Rosa Jacobs of Osborn, Kans., and Mrs. Ella Newcome of Granada, Minn.; one half brother, Fred Kleinback of Minnesota and John Kleinback of Murray and Mrs. Louisa Audlehelm of Osceola, stepbrother and sister.
Mrs. Hayden lived a very quiet and unassuming life among many friends and neighbors by whom she will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. Clare McCallon Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from the Webster funeral home and burial was had in the Murray cemetery.
