Last Rites Held for
John Kleinbeck

John Kleinbeck was born September 28, 1863 near Murray, and passes away at a hospital, September 7, 1940 at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 11 days. He was married April 5, 1890 to Flora Esther Moore. Mr. Kleinbeck spent his entire life in Clarke county excepting the past sixteen months he was confined at a hospital.

Being a carpenter by trade he built some of Murray's better homes and helped to erect the first telephone lines in Clarke county. He was a good citizen, and a true friend to all who knew him. His wife and son Cecil having preceded him in death, he leaves to mourn his loss two sons, Harold and Glen Kleinbeck of Murray; three daughters, Iva Dixon of Creston, Velma Johnson of Murray, and Rubie LeBaron of Omaha, three granddaughters, Byrlee Ramsbottom of Creston, Esther Clancy of Omaha and Donna Lea Johnson of Murray, Five grandsons, Keith, Billy, Jerry, and Ross Kleinbeck of Murray and Leo Dixson of Creston, and one great grandson, Rodney Dixson of Creston; one sister, Mrs. Louisa Audlheelm of Osceola, two half sisters, Margaret Leeps of Osceola and Rosa Jacobs of Osborn, Kansas and one half brother, Fred Kleinbeck of Truman, Minnesota.

Thus another pioneer has gone and we that have not known that pioneer day are left to bear the torch.

Funeral services were held at the Watts Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. Ray Swartz officiating. Music was furnished by Miss Lulu White, Mrs. Stanley Watts, Ray Welker and Clarence Wetzel. Mrs. Clarence Arnold accompanist. Place of interment, Union cemetery.
