Funeral services for Carol Mente, 33, Tipton, were held June 25, 1987 at The First United Church of Christ in Tipton, with the Rev. Robert Molsberry officiating. Nancy Hipple was the vocalist and Betty Trevathan was the organist. Pallbearers were Rod and Anita Johnson, Steve and Connie Barnum, Sandy Mente and Mary Bixler. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Mrs. Mente died June 22 at the University hospitals in Iowa City.

The daughter of Arnulfo and Yvonne Guiterrez Trejo, she was born April 19, 1954 in Middleton, Tenn. She married Mick Mente June 16, 1979 in Tipton. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Mente was a member of the First United Church of Christ and the Cedar County Farm Bureau, serving on ladies and men's board of directors.

She is survived by her husband; 3 daughters, Janell Tilton, Blackwell, Okla.; Lisa Mente and Katrina Mente, both at home; 2 sons, Cliff and Clint Mente, both at home; her parents, Arnulfo Trejo, Ft. Lupton, Colo. and Yvonne Gutierrez, Oxnard, Calif.; a sister, Theresa Medina, Pueblo, Colo.; 2 brothers, Alfonzo Rivera, Denver, Colo. and Tony Trejo, San Bernadino, Calif.; 4 half sisters, LaRhonda Trejo, Ft Lupton, Colo.; Leticia Gutierrez, Marissa Gutierrez and Veronica Gutierrez, all of Oxnard, Claif. and 3 half brothers, Jeremy Trejo, Ft. Lupton, Colo. and Joey Gutierrez and Feliz Gutierrez, both of Oxnard, Calif.
