Memorial services for John W. (Jack) Willer, 56, were held in LaGrange, Ill., June 20, 1987 at the Emmanuel Episcopal church.

Mr. Willer died June 16 in Ashville, N.C., following a heart attack and complications after heart surgery.

The son of Dorothy and Russell Willer, he was born in Tipton June 29, 1930. He was a graduate of Tipton high school and the University of Iowa, receiving his masters degree in history in Illinois. He served 2 years in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Sally Smith June 20, 1954.

Mr. Willer taught history for about 30 years at Lyons Township high school in LaGrange.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Michael, Des Moines; 2 daughters, Sarah and Jennifer, Iowa City and a brother, Wendell "Bud" Willer, Decorah. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Phyllis Dolan of LaGrange.
