Funeral services for Agnes Thompson, 73, West Branch, will be held Friday, Jan. 16, with burial at the West Branch cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15 at the Barker Funeral Home in West Branch.

Mrs. Thompson died Jan. 11, 1987 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City after a short illness.

The daughter of Frank and Rose Kres Ruzek, Mrs. Thompson was born Sept. 21, 1913 in Cedar county. She married Bruce "Bud" Thompson Sept. 6, 1932 in Rock Island, Ill. She was a cook at the Crestview Care Center for many years and was a member of the M.A.O. Club.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by a son, Larry, West Branch; 2 daughters, Mrs. William (Linda) Hatfield, Belvidere, Ill. and Mrs. Kenneth (Lorene) Thomas, West Branch; a brother, Louis Ruzek, West Branch; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986 and a sister who died earlier.
