Funeral services for Loren Morton Coppess, 68, Lowden, will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday (today) April 5 at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. The Rev. Paul Jordan will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, Grand Mound.

Pallbearers will be John Hardison, Henry Otte, Leroy Boettger, Lee Coppess, Larry Coppess and Marvin Conrad. Lisa, Kelli and Patti Conrad will be flower attendants.

Mr. Coppess died April 3 at Jackson County hospital, Maquoketa. He was born Sept. 3, 1910 in Stanwood, the son of Morton and Rosa Seanan Coppess. He married Pearl Benning Jan. 15, 1934 in Wheatland and was founder of Coppess Oil Co., Lowden.

Survivors include his wife, 2 sons, Gary of Lowden and Jon of Newton, and one daughter, Mrs. Tom (Mary) Benton, Lost Nation; 6 grandchildren and 3 brothers, Max and Howard of Stanwood, and Harlan, Clarence.
