Funeral services for Emil Mahlstedt, 90, Tipton, were held at the Chapman Funeral Home, March 19 with services conducted by Dr. Wayne W. Witte. Graveside rites were by World war I veterans. Pallbearers were Myron Schneider, Allan Schneider, LuVerne Pingel, Walter LaFrenz, Harold Hansen and Earl Horman. Burial was in the Van Horne cemetery, Lowden.

Mr. Mahlstedt was born March 2, 1889 at Toronto the son of Katherine Wegner and Theadore Mahlstedt. He married Sarah Hertel Oct. 13, 1920 at Davenport. He was a retired contractor, a veteran of World War I and member of the American Legion. He died at the Cedar Manor nursing home March 16.

A sister Alma Shannon of Tipton survives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
