Milton W. Pedersen Dies Wednesday Nite
Milton Willard Pedersen passed away at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 1946 at the Atlantic Hospital. He was taken ill on March 21st and after spending several weeks in a Des Moines Hospital was recuperating at the home of his father, P. C. (Chris) Pedersen, in Anita. On June 5 while visiting at the home of his sister, Mrs. Francis Mailander, near Atlantic, he was takem suddenly ill and was rushed to the hospital where he died shortly before midnight.
Funeral services were held at Roland, Peacock and Baxter Funeral home in Atlantic Saturday afternoon, June 8. Rev. M. D. Summerbell, pastor of the Anita Methodist Church, officiated. Music was furnished by Mrs. Summerbell and Mrs. Clair Aldrich singing two numbers accompanied by Mrs. Jess McCaustan. Interment was in the Atlantic Cemetery.
Milton Willard Pedersen was born September 24, 1909 at Irwin, Iowa, the son of Peder and Ester Pedersen. He came to the Wiota vicinity when he was 7 years old, living there most of his life. He was married to Etta Thompson at Fort Des Moines, December 22, 1937 and had lived since in Des Moines where he was a driver for a transportation company.
Surviving are his widow, two sons, Larry Alan and Jerry Carl; his father Peder C. Pedersen of Anita; two brothers C. Runa Pedersen of Chicago and Fred A. Pedersen of Omaha; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Keller and Mrs. Francis Mailander of near Atlantic.
Preceding him in death was his mother, who passed away October 28, 1945.
