Kenyon V. King, age 86, a resident of Atlantic, Iowa, died Tuesday evening, July 16, 1985 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday, July 19 at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic. Pastor Thomas Reuss of St. Paul's Lutheran Church conducted the 2 p.m. services. Burial was in the Atlantic, Iowa cemetery.

Kenyon was the son of Edwin S. and Oma (Kenyon) King. He was born January 8, 1899 at Grundy Center and graduated from high school there. He served with the Army during World War I and graduated from Iowa State University in 1921. He married Pearl L. Kaeser on April 12, 1935 at Waukon, Iowa in Allamakee County. He was an appraiser for the Federal Land Banks of Omaha and St. Paul and farm manager for Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company and Farmers National of Omaha.

They moved to Atlantic, Iowa in 1947 and in 1950 he started his own business, Personal Farm Service, retiring in 1979. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Pymosa Lodge 271 A.F.& A.M., Elks Lodge and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Raena Teter, and two brothers, Donald King and Edwin King.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl; a daughter Mrs. Thomas (Janet) Smith of Ames, Iowa; a granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
