James Johnson Dies Saturday

James O. Johnson, 63, farmer living 3 mile north of Wiota, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home Saturday morning.

He was born on a farm south of Cumberland, Dec. 2, 1896, the son of Charlie and Hannah Johnson. He was married to Hazel Johnson June 13, 1924 in St. Joseph, Mo. Except for 8 years spent in Canada, he had spent all his life in Cass County.

Survivors beside his wife are two sons, Jerold of Cumberland and James of Wiota; three daughters, Mrs. Bill Thompson of Anita; Mrs. George Stuetelberg of Atlantic and Mrs. Jim Weber of Wiota; a brother, Joe Johnson of Atlantic; a sister, Mrs. Rose Erickson of Cumberland; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic with the Rev. W. L. Hawn of Anita officiating.
