Following is an account of the
death of Frank Wheeler, nephew
of Oscar Wheeler and Mrs. Clara (Barchard)
Wheeler of this place:

"Frank Wheeler, well known pro-
prietor of the Wheeler filling sta-
tion, and tourist inn on the Lincoln
highway at the junction of 218,
was found dead in the station about
10:30 Sunday evening. Coroner
J. R. Burrows of Belle Plaine and
Dr. R. A. Seller of Blairstown,
were called and it was found that
death was due to complications.

Mr. Wheeler had been in poor
health for about two years but had
not been any worse recently and
his sudden death was a great shock
to his family and friends.

"Funeral services were held at
the home Tuesday at 2 p. m., con-
ducted by the Rev. J. C. B. Peck.
Interment was in the Pleasant
Hill cemetery at Blairstown.

"Franklin Lewis Wheeler was
born in Cass county, Iowa, June 11,
1885. He was born in a tent at
Massena being the first child to
be born in that town. He was mar-
ried to Lillian May Hopkins, July
3, 1911, and to this union five chil-
dren were born, Allen Frank, Ethel
Josephine, Evelyn May, LaVone
Marie and Bernice June.

"Besides his widow and children
he leaves to mourn his death, his
parents, Ferdinand and Myra
Wheeler of Scranton, two brothers,
Ch(e)ster A and George V., of Scran-
ton, and two sisters, Mrs. Milo
Freise, of Scranton, and Mrs. Ther-
esa Ayers of Coon Rapids.

"Business places were closed dur-
ing the hour of the funeral and
many friends from Belle Plaine
and other neighboring towns were
present at the services.

Note: Frank Wheeler was the son of Fernando Leonard Wheeler (1857-1945) and Myra E. Debough (1865-1940).
