At SS. Peter and Paul’s Catholic church, at eight o’clock yesterday morning, the Rev. Father McDermott united in marriage Roy P. Smith, of the Walnut vicinity, son of P. R. Smith and wife, 405 west Sixth street and Miss Mariam Butler, daughter of E. E. Butler and wife. The ceremony was performed in the presence of the families of the contracting parties. The young people were attended by Charles Smith, brother of the groom, as best man and Miss Alice Smith, his sister, as bridesmaid. The bride was gowned in a traveling suit. The young people left after the ceremony for Omaha for a short wedding trip and will make their home near Walnut where the groom is farming. Both were born and reared in this vicinity and have a host of friends here who wish them well.
