Doing research on my Great Grandfather Bert Conrad. Purportedly born in New York in August of 1885, orphaned and brought by train to the Storm Lake area at an unknown date. Was taken in by the McGarry family as a farm hand and later traveled with a thrashing outfit until he settled down and married Beatta. Looking for any record of his arrival in Storm Lake as well as what organization placed him and from which orphanage he originated. Also cannot find Marriage certificate or Death cert for Beatta.
