WATERLOO - Marilyn J. Hayes, 63, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at Allen Hospital of leukemia.

She was born Oct. 22, 1942, in Filmore County, Minn., daughter of Elvin and Olga Olson Ganrude. She married Pat Hayes Jr. Jan. 6, 1963, in Waterloo; they later divorced.

She worked for Cedar Valley Medical Specialists.

Survived by two sons, Joe (Dawn) of Marion and Pat "P.J." (Jennifer) of Waconia, Minn.; a daughter, Michelle "Missi" (Mark) Alexander of Apple Valley, Minn.; six grandchildren, Chase, Brody, Kensington, Erik, P.J. IV and Jackson; two brothers, Mervin (Mary Ellen) Ganrude of Caledonia, Minn., and Bobby (Aggie) Ganrude of Rockton, Ill.; and longtime friend, Rick Hurtado of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; and six brothers, Dale, Al, Owen, Warren, Donald and Verdayne.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity American Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with inurnment at 11 a.m. Saturday in Evergreen Cemetery, Caledonia, Minn. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Minnesota.
