Memorial services for Warren Ivan ‘Bud’ Knudsen, 85, of Neillsville, formerly of Willard, WI, were conducted Oct. 8, 2005 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood. Interment was in the Northern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.

Warren Knudsen, the son of Andrew and Rosie Knudsen, was born April 24, 1920, in Guthrie County, IA, and died Oct. 3, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

Warren was raised on the family farm near Coon Rapids.

He was inducted into the U.S. Army on June 4, 1942, in Des Moines and served in the European Theater of World War II in five combat campaigns, including the Battle of the Bulge. He was honorably discharged Dec. 24, 1945. Warren was always extremely proud of his service to his country.

He married Betty Johnson on Dec. 5, 1946, in Audubon. They farmed in Iowa until Dec. 5, 1958, when they moved to Willard. They operated a family dairy farm until his retirement in 1982. They remained on the farm until 2002, when they moved to the Country View Apartments in Neillsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Nels Knudsen, Leonard Knudsen and Lester Knudsen; and one sister, Gladys Miller.

Warren is survived by his wife, Betty, Neillsville; two daughters: Rosalie Wiand, Pulaski; and Wanda and husband, George Eitland, Green Bay, WI; five sons: Douglas and wife, Diane Knudsen, Durand; Larry and wife, Donna Knudsen, Willard; Craig and wife, Debra Knudsen, Wausau; Curtis and wife, Sandra Knudsen, Wausau; and Paul and wife, Tami Knudsen, Wyoming, MN; 10 grandchildren: Scott and wife, Kay Wiand, Trent and wife, Jeni Knudsen, Kendra Knudsen, Crystal Knudsen, Preston Eitland, Shawn Knudsen, Leo Knudsen, Ryan Knudsen, Michael Knudsen, and Cassandra Knudsen; two great-granddaughters: Haylee Knudsen and Kelsey Knudsen; one brother, John and wife, Irene Knudsen, Audubon; two sisters-in-law: Beatrice Knudsen, Coon Rapids and Ila Knudsen of Mesa, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
