Memorial services for Richard A. “Pete” Petersen, 71, of Hot Springs, AR, were conducted Aug. 26, 2005 at Hot Springs Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Roy Jacob officiating. Honorary casket bearers were Dr. John Bruner, Dr. Robert Johnson and staff at Advance Care Unit at St. Joseph’s hospital.

Richard A. Petersen, the son of Clyde and Kristine Swensen Petersen, was born May 2, 1934, in Exira and died Aug. 22, 2005 in Hot Springs.

Richard was an Army veteran. He also was a member of the Lutheran church. He retired as a supervisor from Kaiser Aluminum.

Preceding him in death was his sister, Jean Petersen.

Richard is survived by his wife, Virginia Petersen of Hot Springs; a daughter, Ragina Jones of Hot Springs; brother and sister-in-law, Ricky J. and Hanna Petersen of Oklahoma City, OK; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Gerry Steward of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Christine Woolems and Chris Woolems; great-grandchild, Page Woolems; and one nephew.
