Memorial services for Richard R. Titus, 75, of South Glastonbury, CT, will be conducted Aug. 27, 2005 at Faith Lutheran Church in East Hartford, CT. A private burial will be at Old Church Cemetery in South Glastonbury.

Richard R. Titus, the son of Paul and Edith Frankford Titus, was born June 24, 1930, in Butler, MO, and died of Parkinson disease. Aug. 18, 2005, at his home in South Glastonbury, CT.

Richard grew up in Des Moines, and attended Iowa State University where he studied aeronautical engineering. After graduating he worked for several companies in California before moving to Connecticut, where he worked for United Technologies Research Center in East Hartford until his retirement in 1987.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his brother, Paul V. Titus.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Betty Lou M. (Jeppesen) Titus; his daughters: Marla (Jamie) Titus of New York City, NY; Paula Mitchell and husband, Stephen of South Glastonbury; his grandchildren Jena and Evan Mitchell; a niece, Linda Calder and husband Dave; and a nephew, Robert Titus and wife, Debbie, all of California.
