Funeral services for Suzanne (Suzie) Chambers, 66, were conducted June 6, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, with Pastor Dwayne Ferguson officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon. Honorary casket bearers were Bernard Neary and Sidney Christiansen. Casket bearers were Gary Crees, Clark (Sam) Kauffman, David Hansen, Tom Nelson, Gary Christensen, and Rich Wolf.

Suzanne (Suzie) Chambers, born Margot Ruth Suzanne McDonald, the daughter of Roy W. and Alsace L. Graham McDonald, was born Sept. 28, 1938, in Carroll and died June 2, 2005 at Audubon County Memorial Hospital.

Suzanne was baptized and confirmed at First United Methodist Church in Audubon. She attended Audubon Community Schools, graduating with the High School Class of 1957. During high school, she participated in basketball, band, and was one of the original lifeguards at the Audubon swimming pool. Following high school, she attended Commercial Extension School in Omaha, Ne, then was employed at Mutual of Omaha.

On Feb. 9, 1958, she was united in marriage to David R. Chambers at First United Methodist Church in Audubon. They lived in Audubon for a short time, moved to Red Oak, and then moved to Keokuk, where they lived for 10 years. In 1970, they returned to Audubon, where Suzie assisted Dave in operating their pharmacy. In 1985, they moved to Texas and lived in Abilene until they returned to Audubon, in 1996, after retiring in 1995.

Suzie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, was a member of Eastern Star, P.E.O. and the Red Hat Society. She was part of the Audubon Welcome Wagon.

Preceding her in death, were her parents; her brothers: John McDonald; and David McDonald; her grandparents; John and Anne Graham; and an aunt, Zelwyn Graham.

Survivors include her husband, David R. Chambers of Audubon; her children: Georgeann Chambers of Iowa City; Dawn Chambers of Omaha, NE: Michael and wife, Mary Chambers of West Des Moines; Roy A. (Tony) and wife, Jane Chambers of Urbandale; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Beverly and husband, George DeBoer of Omaha; her cousin, Ben Graham and wife, Theresa Robertson, of Lawrence, KS; special niece Kathi and husband, Michael Stoops of Ames; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
