Funeral services for Ronald L. “Andy” Young, 60, Bondurant, were conducted May 7, at Bondurant Christian Church. Interment was in the Bondurant Cemetery.

Ronald Young, the son of Roy and Ellen Young, was born Oct. 8, 1944, in Brayton and died May 4, 2005, at In Trust Hospice Taylor House from pulmonary fibrosis.

Ronald served in the Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Pine Island and moved to Des Moines in 1968. He married Janette (nee Lewis) on Oct. 8, 1976, and has lived in Bondurant ever since.

He worked at Bridgestone/Firestone as a Fire Specialist for Pinkerton Security. He was a member of the Bondurant Christian Church and the Bondurant American Legion Post 396.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Janette; sons: Dennis and Steve Young; daughter, Angie and husband Robert Fredericksen; grandchildren: Gabriel and Chloe Fredericksen; brothers: Gene Young of Audubon and Lloyd Young of Griswold; sisters: Edna Crawley of Brayton and Martha Burns of Red Oak; his second mom, Sharon Gahman; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
