Audubon County Journal (IA), March 25, 1915, obituary for Ralph Akers, Sr.
RALPH AKERS SEN.

DIED AT BRAYTON

Mr. Ralph Akers Senior died at
his home in Brayton Iowa at 4 o
clock A. M. yesterday. He was an
old and much respected pioneer of
the state of Iowa and of Audubon
County.

March 24, 1857 he moved from
Wayne Co. Penn., his former home,
to Johnson county, Iowa where he
resided for a number of years and
later in 1869 he moved his family
to near Brayton Audubon County.

His wife preceded him in death.
There are three surviving children.

Lincoln, Ralph A. Jr. and Mrs.
Hanna Parker of near Anita.

Deceased was born August 15th,
1833 and died March 24, 1915.
Funeral services were held at Bray-
ton at 1:30 o'clock today. Rev. Grin-
yer in charge. Interment was made
in the Bowen cemetery.
