Robert L. Hamilton was born in Coshocton County, Ohio, Dec 9, 1846, and passed away at his late home in Rock Island, Illinois, May 3 1913, aged 67 years, 4 months and 24 days.

In 1881, his came to Audubon County, Iowa, where he lived for several year, the last eighteen years of his life were spent in Rock Island, Illinois. He was united in marriage with Kathrin Van Dorn, in 1890, who with two sons by his former marriage, survive the husband and father.

About twenty years ago he united with the M. E. church in Atlantic, Iowa, and at the time of his removal to Illinois, took his letter with him and united with the church there. Nearly a month ago he took sick and contunued to grow weaker until death relieved him.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, William L. of Rock Island; Chas. L. of Grantsburg, Wisconsin; two brothers and three sisters: J. L. Hamilton , of Coshocton, Ohio; Howard H. Hamilton of Tulare, California; Mrs. L. E. Stafford. of Desden, Ohio; Mrs. M. Adams, of Dayton Ohio, and Mrs. M. J. Winn, of Menlo, Iowa, who with a number of friends and acquaintances mourn their severe loss.

A brief service was held at the home Sunday, conducted by Rev. T. E. Newland, Pastor M. E. church.
Funeral from M. E. Church, Audubon, Iowa, last tuesday at 10 a.m., conducted by J. H. Freedline. Interment Maple Grove cemetery.
