Audubon County Journal (IA)
Aug. 17, 1922, pg. 1

Charlie Raymond Baylor, son
of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Baylor, was
born April 28, 1894, in this county
and departed this life August 6th,
1922, at the age of 28 years, 3
months and 28 days.

He was one of a family of four-
teen children, two brothers, John
and Clyde having died in child-
hood. He leaves to mourn his de-
parture a father and mother, six
sisters and five brothers, Mrs. Ed
Gustin and Mrs. Charles Palma, of
Guthrie Center; Mrs. Otis Boehme,
of Osceola, Iowa; Mrs. Walter
Schlotfeldt and Mrs. Eddie C. Wah-
lert of Exira; Earl E., Bernice A.,
Walter H. and Andrew J., of Rich-
ardson, Saskatchewan, Canada;
Everett, Wayne and Gretchen
Kathrina, of Exira.

In addition to the immediate
members of the family are many
other more distant relatives and a
host of friends who will mourn his
departure from the community
life. Especially will this be true
of the children of the community
to all of whom he was a good
friend. The respect in which Mr.
Baylor was held was beautifully
expressed by the many floral trib-
utes and the throng of people who
gathered to attend the funeral ser-
vices.

There are no words so fraught
with grief.
None press the heart so sore;
For which no hope can bring
relief.
As these sad words, "No More."
He kneels upon another shore,
The last frail links are riven;
The drooping heart will droop no
more.
It is the shore of heaven.
and as white hosts of fluttering
wings,
The brightness dart and shine;
Far in the depths an angel sings.
"Forever and forever."

Funeral services were conducted
from the Christian church, Rev.
Eppard in charge. Interment was
in the Exira cemetery.
