A carload of apples, cabbages,
squashes and pumpkins was shipped
from Exira to the Christian Or-
phanage at Council Bluffs recently.Mr. Edwards had a carload of
apples shipped into Exira. He
disposed of all but about three
hundred and fifty bushels on the
track. Then, with the assistance
of a nephew, Roy Littlefield, and
some kind-hearted neighbors, the
car was filled with the vegetables
mentioned and sent to the orphan-
age. Such charitable acts are wor-
thy of commendation.Note: Parents of John Edwards (1848-1928) were Francis Edwards and Margaret Benbow.
