Mrs. Marion Wolf
Badly Burned Sunday

--------

Mrs. Marion Wolf (Lelia Opal Lile) received severe
burns Sunday morning at the family
home in the southwest part of town (Exira).
She was cleaning some clothing in
gasoline and went to fix the fire in
the stove. In some manner the gaso-
line that was on her clothing ignited
and in an instant she was covered
with flames.

Her children rushed to her when
she started screaming and she ran
out of doors in order to keep them
from getting burned. Her husband,
who was at the barn milking, heard
her cries and rushed to her aid. He
rolled her in the snow, extinguish-
ing the flames.

The most severe burns she receiv-
ed were on her right arm, about her
chest and shoulders and on her
limbs. At this time she is resting
as well as could be expected, but her
injuries are very painful. Mrs.
Wood Kline is caring for her.

Destruction of the home was nar-
rowly averted as the wood box and
a rug in the kitchen caught fire,
but this blaze was put out with but
very little damage.

Note: Parents of Lelia Opal Lile were William Harve Lile and Cordelia Wright.

Parents of Marion J. Wolf were Jens Peter Wolf and Carrie Jasperson.
