Daughter Local People
Has Blood Transfusion--------
A blood transfusion was per-
formed early Sunday morning at
the Atlantic hospital in a desper-
ate attempt to save the life of
Mrs. Robert Crum of near Mas-
sean. Mrs. Crum is a former
Exira girl, a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Mike Simonsen, and her
mother is at the hospital with her.The blood transfusion was per-
formed after Mrs. Crum under-
went a Caesarean operation. A
daughter was born prematurely.
The child was dead upon arrival.
Mrs. Crum lost a large amount of
blood through hemorrhage.Mrs. Crum is reported to be in
satisfactory condition today. Mr.
Crum gave his blood in the at-

ing from a recent operation
which was performed at the Atlan-
tic hospital September 12.Note: Parents of Dorothy M. Simonsen were Marinus “Mike” Simonsen and Johanna "Hannah" Jensen.
