I don't research the Blakesley name but have some books that contain some information on the Blakesleys that might/might not be of some help to you.

Blakesley, Joel, e. Sept. 26, 1862, died at St. Louis

Blakesly, F. M., e. May 2, 1864

In a biographical sketch for Henry Kersey it mentioned his son-Isaac J. born 1843 married Miss Nancy J. Blakesly-dau. of Joel B., a resident of Nebraska

1870 Federal Census-Appanoose County, Iowa - Douglas Township (published in 1990 by the App. Co. Genealogy Society):

99-99 BLAKELY, Obadiah 36 m farmer Indiana

Adora M. J. 19 f at home Iowa

Columbus 17 m Virginia

PIARCE, Ada M 29 f keeps house Indiana

Charles 4 m Iowa

HANES CEMETERY-Douglas Township-Appanoose County, IA (published in 1980s by App. Gen. Soc.):

South part of old section-Row 4

BLAKESKY: Columbus (son) 1853-1923

Nancy (Mother) 1813-1869
