Seeking information on Alma Dowell, born May 3, 1902 in Appanoose county, Iowa. Was adopted (I show the same day) by Samuel and Iva Mae Hiner.

I have no other information on Alma (Dowell) Hiner other than she died in Ottumwa, IA. Seeking name of husband, date of marriage, possible children, date of death, place of burial, etc.

Is there any way to trace this adoption, i.e., find out who the birth mother was, see the actual birth record? Or are these records sealed?
