In Response To: Charles W Exline death (Ruth Ellen Bartels)

There is a considerable amount of information on Ancestry.com and familysearch.org about Charles W Exline, his wife, Malinda A Hunter; his parents, Edward Exline and Mary Mansfield; and her parents, William Hunter and Rachell Myers.

See: Ancestry Family Tree Collins-Whetsel Family of Ohio at:
http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/17666154/family/familygroup?fpid=887115551
This tree has many links to census records for both Charles and Malinda who died in Kansas, as well as information on Charles' parents and Exline grandparents.

Also, search https://FamilySearch.org which contains records for Charles and Malinda. Charles' death record shows he died on 24 April 1917 in Center Township, Appanoose County, Iowa, and was buried on 25 April 1917.

Charles W Exline and Malinda A Hunter were married 28 Jan 1881 in Appanoose County, Iowa. The license shows Charles as the son of Edward Exline and -- Mansfield; and Malinda as the dau of William Hunter and -- Myers. See: FamilySearch.

The series of Appanoose County Cemetery Books does not list Charles W Exline or Malinda; but Charles' father, Edward Exline, and his two wives, Mary and Phebia K., are buried in Salem Cemetery in Douglas Township, Appanoose County, Iowa. Edward Exline, born 30 July 1829 and died 6 June 1913; Mary Exline, wife of E. Exline, died at age 34 yr 10 mo 8 days; Phebia K. Exline, wife of Edward, born 2 October 1846, died 6 March 1915. Also, buried with them is Elvira C. Exline, died 13 June 1873, aged 1 yr 1 mo 2 days, dau of E. & P. K. Exline. This information is listed on Page 100 in the Douglas Township, Appanoose County, Iowa, Cemetery Book, compiled by Thressa L. Robinson (31 May 2009).

Malinda Hunter Exline was buried in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis, Ottawa County, Kansas.

Malinda's father, William Hunter, born 1797, died 1882, Veteran of the War of 1812, is buried in Haines Cemetery in Douglas Township. Her mother is apparently buried in Ottawa County, Kansas. In the 1900 US Census, Malinda's birth date is listed as Oct 1860 in Iowa; and in an Ancestry.com Family Tree it is listed as 24 Oct 1861 in Centerville, Appanoose County, Iowa.

There is considerable detail provided on Malinda's family on an Ancestry.com family tree posted by rkammer2; See:
http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/21692069/family/familygroup?fpid=1120379303

Also, a marriage license is listed in the Early Marriages of Appanoose County for Edward Exline and Phoebe K. Moreland on 30 June 1869 (Book 4, Page 62, AC Marriage Records). Thus, Mary (Mansfield) Exline must have died prior to
1869.

Hope this information helps you in your research.
