MOULTON, APPANOOSE COUNTY, IOWA, NOVEMBER 25, 1904Another Old Veteran Gone.
Coal City — A t the age of about 100 years Perry Staton died at the home of his son, C. G. Staton, near this place, the past week, of old
age. His advancing years pratically wore him out. - He had been in bed for over a year. He enlisted in 1861 in the 2nd Missouri infantry,
Co. B, and later joined the Graybeards and served his time out and came home. He has lived in this locality about 50 years. He came from Brown county, Ohio, to Iowa. Five sons and three daughters are left to mourn his loss.
The funeral services were held at Hilltown church and interment was in the cemetery

PASSED AWAY MAY 28Charles Staton, residing south of Hilltown, died at his farm home last Friday.
Charles Gilbert Staton, 81, passed away at his home south of Hilltown in Schuyler county, Mo., last Friday. Death was due to cancerous troubles.
Mr. Staton was born in Peoria, ILL., but moved to this locality some 50 years ago. He is survived by his wife, one son and two daughters.
Funeral services were held from the Hilltown church, Saturday, at 11 o'clock conducted by Rev. Luther Childs, of Centerville. Burial was
made at the cemetery nearby.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 26, 1943Mrs. Wm. Staton
Dies At Age Of 77Mrs. Wm. Staton, 77, well known resident of the Hilltown community, died at her home, Monday afternoon. She had been an invalid for more than 14 years. She was Mary Holton prior to her marriage.
Surviving relatives are her husband, her only child, Francis, of Exline, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Turner, of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Ida Fisher
who resides in Illinois. In addition there is a granddaughter, daughter-in-law and many distant relatives as well as a host of friends
left to mourn her departure.
Funeral services were held yesterday morning at Hilltown church at 11:00 o'clock. The rites were conducted by a nephew of the deceased,
Rev. Trenton Staton, of Ottumwa. Burial was in Hilltown cemeteryHilltown

Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock, Wednesday at the Hilltown church. Sincere sympathy is extended her aged companion and son
and family.

Dies At Age
Of 85 YearsWm. Staton, 85, long time resident of the Hilltown community, died at the St. Joseph hospital in Centerville last Friday following a lingering illness. Mr. Staton was well known in his community and had many friends.
He is survived by one son, Francis Staton, of Exline, and one grandchild. His wife preceded him in death some six years ago.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Hilltown Christian church conducted by Rev. Stanley Bartlett. Burial was in the cemetery nearby.
