Coal Mines

THORNTON AND MARSHALL

I know this is a stretch, but I am wondering if there is any where out there that may have any information on the coal mines in Appanoose County in the late 1800's. Am particularly interested in any listing of the miners who worked those mines.
My gggrandfather(Thornton) and my ggggrandfather(Marshall) were coal miners, and I am interested in finding out anything I can about my gggrandfather(Thornton).
