Theo. Ottenthal, an old man for a long time hostler at the Half Moon House, died last Friday night in this city. He was a very pious old man, attending church every morning, regularly, and was buried Sunday morning, with the rites of the Catholic church.

Note: He is not listed by "Woodmansee" in a Lansing area cemetery. It seems likely that he would have been buried in a Catholic cemetery. Predating Gethsemane cemetery was the now abandoned Catholic cemetery. Many reinterments from there to other cemeteries were made, but other remains were not removed. Mr. Ottenthal's remains, if buried in the Catholic cemetery, may be among those not reinterred. Interested researchers will need to research in depth.
