Erma Simoens Last Rites Held Saturday
Erma Simoens
Mrs. Erma Simoens, 79, widow of Henry Simoens, died early Thursday morning in the Marengo Convalescent Home.
She was born Aug. 9, 1889, in Brussels, Belgium, the daughter of Mr. adn Mrs. Van Hulle, and came to this country as a bride. They farmed north of Norway for many years before moving to town.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dec. 21, 1950.
Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Elvira Schmidt, Watkins, Mrs. Louis (Orpha)Frese and Mrs. Franklin (Irene) Boddicker, Norway; one son, Frank, also of Norway; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; two brothers in Moline, Ill.; and one sister in Brussels, Belgium.
Services were held at St. Michael's Church in Norway, Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Krocheski officiating. Burial was in St. Michael's Cemetery, Norway.
