ANDREW JACOBSEN, 73 DIES AT VINTON HOME
Andrew Jacobsen

Andrew H. Jacobsen, 73, died this morning at 9:20 at his home in Vinton following a long illness. Mr Jacobsen had been in ill health for several years and seriously ill for the last three months.

He was born April 2, 1882, in Germany, a son of Peter and Doris Jacobsen. He came to the United States March 10, 1892, with his parents. The family settled in Newhall.

He married Della M. Schultz on March 4, 1908, in Newhall. The couple farmed in Canton township for 25 years, retiring and moving to Vinton, Aug. 23,1936.

Surviving are his widow, two sons, Clarence of LaPorte and Merl of Waterloo; six daughters, Mrs. Esther Lieb of Atkins, Mrs. Elfrieda Raymond and Mrs. Pearl Butts of Garrison, Mrs. Luella Biram and Mrs. Viola Dice of Vinton and Mrs. Elsie Knaack of Faribault, Minn. 22 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers. He was the last member of his immediate family.

Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Von B. Elbert of the Baptist church at the Fry and Holland funeral home Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

{Submitter comment: To the best of my knowledge Andrew had only 2 brothers which were Henry and August. His father and brother August's obituaries indiate that there were 3 only boys. }

Only Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jacobsen is Dead
Christina Jacobsen

A sad death occurred at Newhall on the 12th inst., when the only daughter and youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jacobsen departed this life after a brief illness.

Christina Jacobsen was born December 24, 1896. Although only 11 years, 6 months and 17 days of age at the time of her death, her sunny disposition and lovable character had won her a host of friends, which was amply testified by the large attendance at the funeral which occurred on the 14th inst.,and by the many floral offerings lovingly contributed.

{Submitter comment: Christina was survived by her parents, Peter and Doris Jacobsen and three brothers, Henry, August and Andrew. She died from menengitis. Andrew was my great grandfather.}

Vinton; March 9, 1931
DEATH REMOVES MRS. JACOBSEN 77 OF NEWHALL
Doris Jacobsen

Newhall March 9 Mrs. Doris Jacobsen, 77 years old, widow of Peter Jacobsen, died this morning at her Newhall home following an illness of several weeks with complications. Funeral will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Lutheran church by the Rev. O. Nieting. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery in the country.

Mrs. Jacobsen came to this country from Germany with her family in 1892 and had since resided here. Her husband died four years ago. There are two sons living. Henry Jacobsen of Keystone and Andrew Jacobsen of Shellsburg. Two children preceded the mother in death. Christine and August. Mrs H. Hansen of St Peter, Minn is a sister and has been with the deceased several weeks.

PETER JACOBSEN OF NEWHALL DIES TODAY
Peter Jacobsen

Newhall, November 8 Peter Jacobsen, long a resident of Newhall, died this morning at 3:30 o'clock after a lingering illness. He was 76 years old November 4.

About 35 years ago Mr Jacobsen came to this country from Germany and has since resided in Newhall. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Henry of Keystone, and Andrew of Newhall. A daughter and son preceded him in death. He has a number of grandchildren. The funeral will be held at one o'clock Wednesday, at the home.
