July 31, 1888 DIED-Tuesday morning. Mrs. Holtorf the aged mother of our townsman Chris, who has been ill for some time ceased to be a suffereer of this world. the funeral services were held at the M.E. church Wednesday morning and the reamains were taken to Carlisle Grove Cemetery for interment. August 7, 1888 OBITUARY Magdolena Dorathea Holtorf was born in Germany October 28, 1821, came to this country June 16, 1881, was the mother of five children, four of which survive her. For the last few months she was troubled with general debility which became too severe for her advanced age. Since she came to this country she has lived with her son, Chris, of this place, where, on the morning of July 24th, she bade fareway to the cares of this world for a better home beyond. Crank
