BESSIE GOEDECKE PASSES AWAY IN ST. LOUIS

BODY BROUGHT HERE FOR BURIAL BESIDE PARENTS, WHO WERE PROMINENT IN EARLY DAYS OF BELLE PLAINE.
The body of Miss Bessie Goedecke, accompanied by her sisters, Mrs. Bertha Kline of St. Louis and Mrs. Frances Sisler of Shreveport, Louisiana, arrived in this city from St. Louis Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning at ten o’clock the body was laid to rest in Oak Hill beside the bodies of her father, mother, aunt and sister. The Episcopal burial service was performed by the Rev. Vinton Lee in the presence of a number of the old friends of the family.
Miss Goedecke was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Goedecke, pioneer residents of this city. Dr. Goedecke located here in the late sixties, and for a number of years practised his profession. Following his death some thirty years ago the family, including Miss Bessie Goedecke, who was born in Lyons, New York, moved to Burlington and later to St. Louis, where Miss Goedecke passed away. The family was quite prominent here in the early days and are well remembered by the older residents.
Miss Goedecke is survived by four sisters and three brothers, namely:— Mrs. Bertha Kline of St. Louis; Mrs. Frances Sisler of Shreveport, Louisiana; Mrs. F. B. Wells of Mankota, Minnesota, Miss Thelka Goedecke of Shreveport, Louisiana; Arnold Goedecke of Louisville, Kentucky; Armin Goedecke of St. Louis, and Capt. Fred Goedecke of the U. S. regular army stationed at Ft. McPherson, Atlanta, Georgia.
