Ellogene Dunning

Ellogene Dunning was born July 12, 1907 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana to Lee and Florence Snyder Dunning. The family moved to Illinois before settling in Iowa where they lived in Belle Plaine and the Elberon and Vining area.

Miss Dunning died April 5, 1996 at the Keystone Care Center at the age of 88. The funeral service was held April 8, 1996 at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone Iowa.

The summer following her graduation from the Elberon High School, Ellogene attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and began her teaching career that fall in a country school in York Township, Tama County IA.

Before retiring in 1971 she had touched the lives of students for 46 years in the communities of Elberon, Vining and Keystone.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law George and Violet Dunning of Tama, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several infant siblings, and one brother Lee Dunning, Jr.
