Lloyd Allen Cress

Lloyd Allen Cress 78, was dead on arrival Sunday night at St Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after a sudden illness. Services will be at 10:30 am, Wednesday at the Grace Trinity Church. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery. Funeral is under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a son, Allen of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Judy Munn of Shellsburg; two brothers Everett of Shellsburg and Forrest of Onslow; and a sister, Bertha Oliphant of Center Point. Also surviving are a daughter-in-law, Caryol, a son-in-law, Larry Mumm; three grandchildren, Scott Cress of Cedar Rapids, Lori Long of Hiawatha and Trish Mumm of Shellsburg and a great-granddaughter, Allison Long.

Before Retiring he was employed for many years at Lamperts and Suburban Lumber Yards in Cedar Rapids. After his retirement, he worked with the Green Thumb Program at Pleasant Creek park and for the city of Shellsburg.

Margaret J. Cress

Margaret J. Cress, age 77 died Tuesday afternoon. February 6, 2001 at the Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.

She was born July 15, 1923 at Center Point to Frank and Anna (Herleberg) Tharp. On October 30,1940 she married Lloyd Allen Cress at Toddville. He preceded his wife in death on November 10, 1991...

She is survived by her son and daughter in-law. Allen and Caryol Cress of Luzerene, her daughter and son in-law Judy and Larry Mumm of Shellsburg, three grandchildren, Scott Cress and Lori Long, Both of Cedar Rapids and Tisha Smith of Crawfordsville, two step grand children, Lisa Holguin and Laryn Mumm four great granddaughters, Allison and Tyler Long Kelsey Cress and Page Smith, two step great grandchildren, Aimee and Ian Mumm and one sister Dorthy Yates of Fresco CA.
