Milo Broeffle Died At Iowa City Monday Morning At 11:15
Milo Broeffle

One of the saddest deaths that has occurred for some time was that of Milo Broeffle who died in the hospital at Iowa City last Monday morning at about 11 o'clock. He had been taken to the hospital for a mastoid operation, but an examination proved that he had an abscess on the brain. He lived but a few days after was was taken to the hospital and suffered intensely. Young Milo was the son of George Broeffle, of Brandon. His age was 23 years. He was born near Mt. Auburn in 1887. His mother died when he was but five years of age. He went to the schools of Cedar township and Mt. Auburn. For the past two years he had been working for W. H. Tracey in a general store at Mt. Auburn. A week before going to the hospital he had made an engagement with the Hayward-Glock Shoe Company of this city, expecting to learn the business and make it his life work.

He was an exceptionally bright young man. There was not a fault in his character, and his genial disposition and manner drew to him innumerable friends. He was a member of the "Boys" club at Mt. Auburn and was beloved by all the members. His body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Mt. Auburn and the pallbearers were members of the "Boys" club. His death is universally mourned by his large circle of friends.
