Exira Area Civil War GAR Vets
This photo was taken by "J. L. Jorgensen Photo Studio, Exira, Iowa". There's no further identification, but it appears to be a gathering of Civil War Vets wearing GAR ribbons, possibly taken in the Exira Park? Circa 1904? We'd love to be able to identify the individuals shown in the photo. If you recognize anyone, perhaps a grandfather or great-grandfather, please contact the Audubon County Coordinator. Photo contributed by Mary Beth Stephens, September 2010.
2nd View - Exira Area Civil War GAR Vets with Identification
This circa 1904(?) photo is identical to the photo immediately above, but with handwritten identification on the back. A best attempt at interpreting the old handwriting and notations has been made, and numbers have been written on the front of the photo, left to right, as an aid. The names with asterisks are certain.
