ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CEMETERY
Audubon Township

St. John's Lutheran Audubon Township, Audubon County, Iowa

St. John's Lutheran Church is located next to the road that marks the county line between Audubon and Guthrie counties. The original church building and cemetery were both in Audubon County. However, when a new church building was erected in 1927, it was built across the road to the east (in Guthrie County). The cemetery remains in Audubon County. Additional information about the history of St. John's Lutheran Church may be found under Church Records.

St. John's Lutheran Cemetery was walked and all existing gravestones photographed for Iowagravestones in 2012. More recent burials will be being added periodically.

Some graves in the cemetery may have been unmarked, or a marker may have deteriorated/disappeared over the years. Cemetery lot holder names were listed in a cemetery survey prepared by the Perpetual Care Committee when the church voted to establish a Perpetual Care Fund (Nov. 1967). The survey was distributed to cemetery lot holders or, in the case of deceased cemetery lot holders, to their descendants/relatives, when the Fund was being established. A map showing lot locations and the number of graves on each lot was included. (Top of map is South, right side is West, bottom is North, etc.)
