Susan C. Priest, former copy writer in the promotion department of The Des Moines Register and Tribune, and Mary Jane Drake, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl B. Drake, 6012 N. Waterbury road, recently arrived in the European theater of operations to serve as American Red Cross staff assistants.

Margaret Mordy, graduate of Roosevelt High school and former physical education instructor at the State University of Iowa, has arrived in Brazil to work as a Red Cross assistant program director.

Miss Drake to be Bride

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bruce Drake, 6012 North Waterbury road, announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Jane and Lt James K. Mugg, jr., son of Mrs. James K. Mugg and the late Mr. Mugg of Higgins, Tex.

Miss Drake was graduated from Roosevelt High school and received her bachelor of science degree in home economics at Iowa State college at Ames.

Before entering service, she was employed as a bridal consultant for Scruggs- Vandervoort. She has been overseas eight months serving in the Mediterranean theater of operations. She formerly was stationed at Naples, Italy and now is at Gorizia.

Mr. Mugg was graduated from the University of Oklahoma at Norman with a bachelor of science in pharmacy.

He attended Officer's Candidate school at Camp Berkeley, Tex and was adjutant at Station hospital at Edgewood Arsenal, Md. before going overseas. He now is stationed in the medical corps at the 88th infantry division at Gorizia.
