Laverne Edwin Ebersole was born Jan. 23, 1912 to Simon B. and Katherine “Katie” Lapp Ebersole. He died Mar. 22, 1986 and is buried in Poland Township Cemetery, Marathon, IA. Laverne served in World War II with the U.S. Army 154th General Hospital.

Clarence Otto Ecker was born July 5, 1914. He died July 29, 1945 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 3, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Chief Petty Officer Ecker served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Callaghan (DD-792) and was MIA/KIA when that vessel was sunk in Buckner Bay, Okinawa. He also served aboard the USS Nashville (CL-43) and USS Neshanic (AO-71). He was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star.

Clifford J. Ellis was born July 26, 1917 to Loren Ellsworth and Martha Elizabeth Point Ellis. He died Oct. 10, 2013. Clifford served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Leighton Ellsworth “Lee" Ellis was born Jan. 13, 1922 to Loren Ellsworth and Martha Elizabeth Point Ellis. He died May 12, 2012 and is buried in Funks Grove Cemetery, McLean, IL. 

Lt. Ellis served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a pilot, flying 18 missions in a B-24 Liberator. On April 8, 1945 he was shot down over Brenner Pass and was interred in Switzerland until the end of the war.

Wayne Everett Ellis was born June 22, 1914 to Loren and Martha Elizabeth Point Ellis. He died July 18, 1969 and is buried in City of Mesa Cemetery, Mesa, AZ. Pvt. Ellis served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.
